Glass fibre is an inorganic non-metallic material with excellent properties.
It is made of chlorite and other ores or glass balls by high temperature melting, drawing, winding, weaving and other processes, the diameter of its monofilament is a few microns to twenty microns, equivalent to 1/20-1/5 of a hair, each bundle of fiber original filaments are composed of hundreds or even thousands of monofilaments.
Features:
The advantages are good insulation, heat resistance, corrosion resistance and high mechanical strength, but the disadvantages are brittleness and poor abrasion resistance.
Application:
Glass fibre yarn is mainly used as electrical insulation material, industrial filter material, anti-corrosion, moisture-proof, heat insulation, sound insulation and shock absorption material. It can also be used as a reinforcing material to manufacture reinforced plastics or reinforced gypsum and other FRP products. Organic materials covered with glass fibre can improve its flexibility, used to make packaging cloth, window screen, wall cloth, covering cloth, protective clothing and insulation, sound insulation materials.
