Polyvinyl butyral resin (referred to as PVB) is a thermoplastic resin product synthesized by the condensation reaction of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and butyraldehyde.
Polyvinyl butyral resin (referred to as PVB) is a thermoplastic resin product synthesized by the condensation reaction of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and butyraldehyde. Appearance is white powder, soluble in methanol, ethanol, ketones, halogenated alkanes, aromatic hydrocarbon solvents. And it has good compatibility with nitrocellulose, phenolic resin, epoxy resin and some plasticizers. PVB has good film-forming properties, and the formed coating film has superior properties such as high transparency, cold resistance, impact resistance, and ultraviolet radiation resistance. And PVB has a special chemical structure, which can have excellent adhesion with metals, glass, wood, ceramics, fiber products, etc., and has good dispersibility for pigments and dyes. It is widely used in the production of safety glass interlayer films, coatings and paints, copper clad laminates, decals for porcelain, fabric printing, tipping paper, inks, and special adhesives.
